I think I MAY have finally figured out how to put links into my posts.

Now How do I get my links to show up as pictures? Any help is warmly welcomed.

Painted door knobs.

I wrote this post in Mid-October.  There have been other bloggers with a story on how to paint your door knobs,  but they draw so much interest each time more it is published  I thought it is worth printing the details again..........

This is my first attempt at posting before and after photos of a project. Not my first project just my first blog.

My husband and I moved to a new city and with that came a new to us home. A house that it desperately in need of an updating.

I love the bronze looking fixtures but I was not happy with the way they wear. Besides I have 15 indoor door knobs.

So I decided to paint them. No big surprise, my husband says I will paint anything that stays still long enough.

So I washed them really well, sanded well and primed them with a metal primer, base coated them with satin black spray paint, then dusted them alternating copper metallic and dark brown spray paints until I got the look I wanted. Then I coated them with 2 coats of clear satin spray. I let the knobs cure for a whole week before reinstalling them.  Since the time of my original post I found a few brands That offer ORB or Oil Rubbed Bronze.  I am just as happy the spray paint color as I was with my spray-mixing colors.  I still coat each one with 2 coats of clear satin spray for durability.Don't forget to paint all the screws and plates.  I never paint the part of the lock that extends into the wall part of the door frame,  They will scratch very easily.

I have been doing them a few at a time. The one pictured I did over a year ago and it is holding up beautifully.

This is my first post and I am just learning about blogs. So this is a test.
