My husband and I just returned from a much needed vacation. And we had a wonderful time but it was also a first for me. Not a first vacation but the first time we stayed somewhere that I did not mentally redecorate the room. Admit it you all do it too. You know you do. But I didn't find anything I wanted to change until I saw the photos.
We were upgraded to a cottage on the lake. Lake Tahoe.
I loved the bedroom and I wanted to make sure that I took fabulous pictures of many of the very nice details. Don't you love this leather headboard with the large tack accents on it. All the walls were papered with natural textured themes. It was very subtle and gave the rooms a warn and relaxed feeling,

Here I am enjoying a quite morning with my new found friends the Canadian Geese. They were very well mannered.

Here I am still feeding the geese. I just gota have animals on vacation, and if I can't bring my own I will find temporary ones for the vacation.
The scenery is just stunning at Lake Tahoe...This was taken on the property of the Thurderbird Lodge where the famous wooden boat The Thunderbird is kept.

This photo was taken in the exact same place where we had a photo taken almost 30 years ago. The place is just a beautiful and the people are just slightly more filled out due to their many travels, but they are just as much in love as they were 30 years ago.
My husband took this shot from our porch of our cabin at the Hyatt in Incline Village. The beach was great. We met interesting people, had some wonderful meals. One night we got to ride in the service elevator and tour through the kitchen on our way to dinner. It was very interesting to see what goes on behind the scenes of a kitchen.
We also encountered a very large bear while walking back after dinner. We were walking down through the parking lot on our way to our cabin when we saw this gentle giant of a bear.. He started for the beach and provided entertainment for the diners to enjoy with the coffee and desserts.
We enjoyed sitting around the most beautiful fire pit in the evening and talking to other visits,
WE were sad to leave such a beautiful place but there is still no place like Home.
Thanks for reading,
